Mattias has a degree from the International Economics Program at Uppsala University with a major in marketing. He has lived a great deal of his adult life abroad, studying in France, Italy and Canada, doing internship at the Swedish Chamber of Commerce/Swedish Embassy in Argentina, and working for Swedish corporations in Belgium, Indonesia and India. Mattias has held leading positions within marketing for several international Swedish companies. He began his carreer as a controller for the global fashion brand H&M and soon became the country manager for H&M in Indonesia, where he stayed for three years. His next position was as marketing manager for Western Europe for the cosmetic company Oriflame Cosmetics, and within a year he became global branding manager for the company, based in Brussels. In this position he led the development of the global implementation of a new brand platform and graphic identity for Oriflame. After four years at Oriflame, Mattias crossed over to the agency side and began working as a brand strategist for the design firm BVD, where he soon took over as CEO. At BVD he worked with brand strategy for Absolut Vodka, Filippa K, H&M, Pressbyrån, Blossa Glögg, Candy King, Johnson & Johnson and Apotek Hjärtat among others. Mattias has lectured at a number of universities, industry conferences and seminars, and has sat on the jury for Sweden’s most important advertising and marketing award, the Gold Egg Awards. He has a keen interest in cooking and looks forward to realizing his dream of publishing his own cookbook.Close
Susanna Barrett has lived and worked in Sweden for 15 years. Originally from Canada, Susanna studied fine art and graphic design in Vancouver and later completed a Masters Program at Yale University in Switzerland where she studied under the graphic design legend Paul Rand and renowned Swiss designer Armin Hofmann. After working as a senior designer in a multi-disciplinary design company in Vancouver, Susanna moved to New York City where she was creatively responsible for a design firm for four years working with print, packaging and web design. After moving to Sweden in 2000 she became a partner and Creative Director at the design and branding firm BVD. There she was behind many successful large-scale branding and packaging assignments, generating numerous design awards both locally and internationally, including the Red Dot Design Award. In her ten years with BVD Susanna lead creative teams to develop branding strategy and design for clients within identity, packaging and retail concepts, including Absolut Vodka, Blossa Glögg, Filippa K, Electrolux, H&M, Johnson & Johnson as well as the Swedish pharmacy chain Apotek Hjärtat. Susanna is a popular guest lecturer and holds workshops at many design schools, including Beckmans School of Design, Berghs School of Communication, Forsbergs as well as Brobygrafiska. She has been on the jury of many design awards, Chairman for the Design Jury of the Gold Egg Awards in 2010, as well as the AIGA in New York among others. She serves on the advisory board of Brobygrafiska. Susanna is interested in music and contemporary art which provides continual inspiration for her work.Close
